Winter Racing Throws Everything At Handicappers

Cold temperatures, high winds, ice and snow all affect horses differently and, like humans, some just don’t like playing under these conditions and won’t put forth a maximum effort. It makes handicapping at this time of year quite challenging.

Rally Together!!

Last Sunday I was taking my dogs for a walk, enjoying the glorious sunshine and fresh snow while strolling along the beach by my home and I said to myself – man, life can’t get any better then it is right now but then I had another thought

A Visit To Hanover Shoe Farms - What A Thrill!

For me, stepping on to the hallowed grounds of the famed breeding establishment would be akin to a hockey fan visiting the old Montreal Forum for the first time or a baseball fanatic making their first trip to Yankee Stadium.

157 With Five Days To Go

After thousands of races, and 162 racing days, the jockey’s race is tied between Jim McAleney and Patrick Husbands with 157 wins a piece. Going into November it looked as if McAleney was 1/9 to be the top rider of 2008.

Only 5 Days To Go

It’s the last week of live thoroughbred racing for the 2008 campaign at Woodbine so that means its your last chance to get your fill of action before we all go into hibernation for the winter months.
